============================================================================== Title : FUEHRER.WAD for DOOM II Deathmatch Filename : FUEHRER.WAD Author : John Dammann Nicknames : Der Frag Fuehrer on game conn boards, FrgFuhrer in #deathmatch on IRC Email Address : [email protected] Misc. Author Info : My first attempt at creating a good deathmatch wad Description : A wad with something for every deathmatcher: small, easily accessible weapons, telefrag possibilities, open and tight areas, lifts, multiple floor heights, a semi-dark area, relatively low chances for respawn frags. Additional Credits to : Steve Harmon (Psanders), Mike Roberts (Warlord), Chris Wagner (Dr. Watson), Moosehead Beer, id Software ============================================================================== * Play Information * Map # : Map 1 Single Player : Yes (recommended for deathmatch, though) Cooperative 2-4 Player : Yes (recommended for deathmatch, though) Deathmatch 2-4 Player : YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Difficulty Settings : Supported for single player Deathmatch 1.0 : Definitely Deathmatch 2.0 : Yes New Sounds : No New Graphics : No New Music : No Demos Replaced : None * Construction * Base : New level from scratch Editor(s) used : DoomED/PM for OS/2 Presentation Manager Known Bugs : report any to email address above * Copyright / Permissions * Authors may use this level as a base to build additional levels, HOWEVER, please give credit where credit is due and include the name of the original author (me) in the description. * Comments * This is my first stab at creating a deathmatch wad (or any wad) for Doom II. By all means, criticize away. After playing countless hours and countless other wads, I felt I had a pretty good idea of what makes a successful deathmatch wad. Most people I've played appreciate a small, well designed level with a high encounter rate. However, they *don't* appreciate numerous respawn frag possibilities common with Maps 1 and 7 of the original doom2.wad. Using these criterion as guidelines, I proceeded with the design of FUEHRER.WAD. As for those who haven't tried creating a wad of his or her own, I'd recommend trying. After hours of thought, learning the editor, and texture alignment (did the best I could), I can now appreciate what wad authors go through to bring us more variety and excitement to our deathmatch games. Please keep it up. In the future, I may try to build yet another deathmatch wad. While designing this current one, many new ideas came flooding into my brain all at once. I hope I can remember some of them. Oh well..enough of my babbling. DOOM ON!! * Where to get this WAD * FTP sites: ftp.cdrom.com BBS's : Cincinnati Multiplayer Connection 513-825-7900 ARE YOU STILL READING THIS?!?!? GO SPLATTER SOME GUTS!
