=========================================================================== Archive Maintainer : No instructions, however I am including the original text files of the maps that went into this pack. Compiler's email: [email protected] Other Files By Author : Other files(if any) of the author can be found in their map's text file. Misc. Author Info : I play Doom. What a surprise. Description : The idea started one day while I was searching for a file via ZDaemon's getWAD service. You simply enter the file name you want, and it searches the database to see if the file exists. If it does, you download it and continue with your day as usual. I don't recall totally, however I think I was looking for a file whose name had something to do with blood. I started typing stuff that come directly to mind: demon.wad, dark.wad and other such general names that could possible get me somewhere. Even though I never found the file I was originally looking for, I did however find a number of one-map, 100 or so monster levels that seemed pretty decent and played nicely. Many of them looked like semi-successful first map attempts, while others dated back to 95'. So I thought - why not put them all in a giant wad and play them? In the end, it's exactly what I did. And so I called it 'maps that never Were', because I believe these maps - that have sat in a dark corner of the internet for quite some time - deserve a little light. The wad is designed for Zdaemon and can be played single-player or in a coop server. Because many maps are generally easy to race through, I have made a deHACKED patch that sets the max health limit to 70 and 120 with powerups. Excellent choice for survival gamemodes. Additional Credits to : Worst-vd-Plas and Krawa for useful tips and bearing with my questions, as always. =========================================================================== * What is included * New levels : 32 individual maps that have been brought together into one wad. Sounds : No Music : Yes,replaced the maps which had D_RUNNIN with doom midis. If you MUST know the names of the songs, pm me via ZDaemon. Graphics : Yes, just a new titlepic, help, M_DOOM and credit pic. Dehacked/BEX Patch : Yes, added max health 70 and 120 with powerups. Demos : No Other : Added scripts to display map and author names at the start of each map. Other files required : Doom2.wad.Duh. * Play Information * Game : Doom 2 Map # : 1-32 Single Player : Designed for single player. Cooperative 2-4 Player : Designed for 2-4 player coop. Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Possible on some maps. Other game styles : Would be great for survival. Difficulty Settings : Most maps, but not all. * Construction * Base : Modified Build Time : Took 4 days to compile. Refer to map text files that are included for individual map build times. Editor(s) used : Compilation: Doom Builder 2, Slade3. For map editors used, refer to individual text files. Known Bugs : Misaligned textures on some maps. Refer to included text files for bugs on an individual scale.
