================================================================ Title : FOUR CORNERS WAD version 1.7 Filename : FCW17.WAD Author : Wadhah Al-Tailji Email Address : [email protected] Misc. Author Info : High school graduate, Visual Basic programmer. Description : One of my first levels (more specifically, it's my third). It has been continuously modified until I have reached a point where I was satisfied with my level. If you don't download this level, you'll be missing out on hundreds of hours of hard work... Good for DeathMatch. And good for 4 players since many things in this level are in fours. This level has a lot of rooms with something special about each corner of the room. This level starts out with a very small level 6. The purpose of this is incase a person starts the game with WARP 7 or IDCLEV07, then the person hasn't legally entered level 7, and a certain feature in this level won't work. You must, if you are going to use -warp or idclev, start out on level 6, then end it to continue into level 7. Level 6 is so small that it will only take a second to end. I've included a .deh file that is recommended to be used with my level. It only modifies text in the game, and not the behavior of things like enemies and weapons. Background Story : After you have killed the mighty boss brain that has plagued your planet (on level 30), you felt a surge of relief and excitement. But at the same time, many of the brain's monsters were still alive, still running around, bent on killing you. Some of the enemies saw how magnificent you were in killing the brain, and others became more angry. The angry ones wanted to shred you to pieces, while the others bowed down to you. The servants to you attacked the angry enemies, and a large fight began. The angry enemies saw that you were a valuable possession to the servants, and decided to let you live, but put you in a cage in their new palace. A new leader of the angry enemies was chosen, and you are left in a cell, with nothing left, nothing to do. All you weapons have been taken, but luckily (or unluckly) your cell is occupying a dead human who was more unfortunate that you. You find some weapons on the body, such as a pistol, which you immediately pick up. You notice a super-shotgun and a box of shells. This is where you mission begins. You somehow have a feeling that you should find the shrine and throne room, and kill the angry leader. Hopefully killing the angry leader will trigger an exit opening. Who knows? Mission Objective : Kill whoever is behind all this, rumors have it that the Boss Brain has come back to life, but has hidden himself where he can never be shot at. So you're going to have to kill him some other way. Additional Credits to : Matthew Ayres for WADED, Matt Herd for a tutorial on making DOOM levels, and id Software for the great game! ================================================================ * Play Information * Episode and Level # : Levels 6 & 7 (DOOM ][ only!) Single Player : Yes. A nice single player game, but not as fun as deathmatching a friend with. Cooperative 2-4 Player : Yup, but it wouldn't be as fun as below... Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Hell yeah! And it's hard! There are special things for deathmatch, like Deathmatch only teleports (can't use them in anything else). I added deathmatch teleports to help make this level more deathmatch friendly, hehe. Difficulty Settings : Yeah, and it's even harder in DeathMatch New Sounds : Nope, sorry. New Graphics : New switch texture, and a new RESET LEVEL texture (you'll find this one out). I've also replaced the Pause sprite for those of you who play deathmatch and hate the way the "Pause" gets in the way of you typing a message to your friend. This is just a small blue line that will be out of your way when you type. New Music : Yes, cool music I found in another WAD file. Stairway to Heaven for Level 6, and unknown for Level 7. Demos Replaced : None * Construction * Base : New level from scratch Editors used : WADED 1.83B, DEU2 5.21, NWT v1.3 Known Bugs : Only thing that needs to be fixed is how some of the textures line up, but otherwise there are no big bugs that will hamper your playing ability. Only the monsters can do that! :-) A note from Version 1.3: I think I've fixed all these bugs, but there could be some textures that I've missed. Time I spent on this : God, I don't know. Definately more 100 hours! That's the last time I'm making a DOOM level this big! Kills too much time. If you don't like this level, then I'm going to have to hunt you down! <evil- grin> * Copyright / Permissions * Authors may NOT use this level as a base to build additional levels. I've spent so much friggin' time on this level, it's not even funny. You may, however, examine it through any editor to find out how I did some of this stuff. You MAY distribute this WAD, provided you include this file, with no modifications. You may distribute this file in any electronic format (BBS, Diskette, CD, etc) as long as you include this file intact. * Where to get this WAD * FTP sites: ftp.cdrom.com (/.2/idgames/newstuff) or (/.2/idgames/levels/) BBS numbers: Other:
