=========================================================================== Advanced engine needed : ZDoom 1.23 Primary purpose : Deathmatch =========================================================================== Title : Ugh DM 1 : Underground Base Filename : fughdm01.wad Release date : Today Author : Fredrik Johansson Email Address : [email protected] WWW : www.doomworld.com/fredrik Other Files By Author : Vrack, Vrack2, Vrack3, Castle of Eternal Carrot Misc. Author Info : 15 year old swedish phreak Description : This is a small deathmatch level for ZDoom, making use of slopes and a fancy little script for a central event in the map. This is my first DM level as well as the first level in which I use slopes. Well, the slopes are not a very active part of the level, they are only decorative. For this level, I created a set of new textures... which took me maybe an hour. I really wanted to build a level that used no Doom 2 textures at all. I do use a few computers from Doom 2, but anyway, it's mostly new. Looking at the map, it's a fast-paced level with few places to camp or hide. This means that you can play it against a single opponent as well as against 7, and get action all the time. The plasma gun is very tricky to get... you'll find out why. Waiting for it is not always the best thing to do since the other players can come from any direction =) Additional Credits to : Tarin, who wrote the major parts of the ACS script that handles the laser beams, and also tested the level. Jon Rimmer, who pointed out some texture error. And of course, thanks to id Software for Doom, Doomworld for hosting & eliteness, and Randy Heit for the awesome source port ZDoom. =========================================================================== * What is included * New level : Yes Sounds : Yes, sound FX for laser beams Music : Yes, by yours truly: "Have This Frag" - Title & intermission "Running A Tunnel" - Level Not the most creative names, but they'll do :) I don't expect people to play with music - especially as it makes harder to know when the plasma can be taken on this level. But it's there to set the mood if you're just checking the levels. Graphics : Yes, several all-new textures and new title pic + intermission screen Dehacked/BEX Patch : No Demos : No Color Palette : Yes, a modified version of Doom's color palette, now featuring cyan and yellow->red. * Play Information * Game : DOOM2 Map # : MAP01 Single Player : Player starts only Cooperative 2-4 Player : Player starts only Deathmatch 2-8 Player : Designed for Difficulty Settings : In a way, on lower skill levels there is more ammo, but everybody play deathmatch on skill 5, right? * Construction * Base : New from scratch Build Time : Couple of hours Editor used : DeepSea, WinTex, PSP6, InkWorks Known Bugs : Modified palette causes some unusual flickerings, but I'm pretty sure this is a bug with ZDoom. May Not Run With... : Everything except ZDoom 1.23 or later * Copyright / Permissions * Authors MAY NOT use the contents of this file as a base for modification or reuse.
