As Ron Jomero, senior member of id Software, you are about to burn the gold master of Doom 2 and send it off to GT Interactive for duplication and distribution. It's late and everyone is ready to head home and finally get some well-deserved sleep. Just as you are about to hit "Copy," lead programmer Con Jarmack stands bolt upright from his office chair. "Wait a minute," he says, his eyes as big as saucers. "We totally forgot about Map30! The last level!" A shocked hush comes over the room as everyone realizes that they assumed someone else had made the final map for Doom 2. All eyes drift your way. As you push your flowing mahogany locks out of your face, you painfully remember your boasts earlier in the day of being id Software's fastest mapper by light-years. The gold master needs to be at Fed Ex by 11:59 PM in order to be shipped overnight to GT Interactive. If they don't get it by tomorrow morning, it can't be on shelves on time and id Software loses eight billion dollars. Allowing 20 minutes to copy the files and burn rubber down to FedEx in your Ferrari, you have 100 minutes to design the perfect final level for Doom 2. GET MOVING, RON! =========================================================================== * The Levels * =========================================================================== Map01 -- BlackTerror Map02 -- Bloodshedder Map03 -- Ebola Map04 -- Fredrik Map05 -- Hirogen2 Map06 -- Joe Pallai Map07 -- Nick Baker Map08 -- Nunoc Map09 -- SgtCrispy Map10 -- Sir Robin Map11 -- Skarj E3M1 -- Captain Napalm =========================================================================== * Copyright / Permissions * Authors may NOT use the contents of this file as a base for modification or reuse.
