============================================================================= Title : The BF Wad Filename : HEX_BF.WAD Author : Dave Bolin Email Address : [email protected], [email protected], feedback is appreciated you know. Misc. Author Info : Martial Artist, Musician, Engineer, Husband, Dad, bipedal kinda guy. Description : My latest Wad for HEXEN, complete w/scripts, This is a complete five level hub. (Plus a secret 6th level) I am kinda proud of the lighting effects and the work I did with the shadows. Believe it or not this started off as one level but got too slow, this forced me to turn it into a hub, and learn the scripting language. (AHHHHH! I still haven't figured it all out). It was developed on a 486DX-40 (running at 50) with a Trident 1 meg video card (ISA). And 20 meg of ram The sound card was a Sound Blaster 2.0. It runs great on my AM5x86-133 w/ a Diamond Stealth 64 2meg vram, AWE32, and 20 meg of ram. It still may run a little slow on slower machines. At least until you kill off the geeks. IMHO, this wad kicks ass. I still don't consider it to be done, but realise that I could twiddle with it forever. Additional Credits to : id, Raven, DCK 3.4, Ben Morris for the editor and Hexen specs. Every Doom head and Heretic / Hexen addict on this planet and elsewhere, my kids (the beta testers from hell) for deathmatch testing. (I died a thousand deaths.) The family that deathmatches together stays together. ============================================================================= * Play Information * Game : Hexen Episode and Level # : Maps 27, 28, 30, 31, 32, 33 This translates into levels 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 (use these with visit or -warp, or id's DM) Single Player : Yes Cooperative 2-8 Player : Yes, I put in 8 player support but haven't tested it I've only got 4 people in my family with a 4 node network at home, and haven't tried v1.1 w/8 players yet. (at work of course!) Deathmatch 2-8 Player : Yes - See above, The flow of this wad was primarily designed with single, or co-op playing in mind. The individual maps though were designed with DEATHMATCH in mind, though I can't say where you'll wind up at. Anybody that knows how to modify the map lump info could probably help me out and make the dm flow like the coop and single player modes. If you can help me out with this please e-mail me and I'll revise the wad package. Difficulty Settings : Yes New Sounds : No New Graphics : No New Music : No Demos Replaced : None * Construction * Base : New level from scratch Editor(s) used : DCK3.4, Zennode Known Bugs : One or two that I just can't seem to track down. Nothing big. I would appreciate any feedback on any of the little critters (bugs) you run across, especially if you know how to solve them. * Copyright / Permissions * Authors MAY NOT use this level as a base to build additional levels. You MAY distribute this WAD, provided you include this file, with no modifications. You may distribute this file in any electronic format (BBS, Diskette, CD, etc) as long as you include this file intact, please notify me and send me a copy. You may do whatever you want with this file. Like how am I going to stop you? I could say that I'll see you on the shores of hell (I'm that big guy with the Naginata). I would ask though that you include the original files in with yours. (Credit where credit is due...) Actually maybe you should just learn how to use an editor, and learn how to script, and use your own creativity instead of ripping off someone elses work. No?, well it was just a suggestion anyway. * Where to get this WAD * FTP sites: ftp.cdrom.com, ftp.idsoftware.com (WADS is where you find 'em) BBS numbers: See above, people still use BBS's? Other: AOL, MSN, who knows.... Like I said wads is where you find 'em
