=========================================================================== Advanced engine needed : Doom.exe, but PrBoom or ZDoom recommended (see known bugs) Primary purpose : Single play =========================================================================== Title : Breached Perimeter Filename : 75m1-jer Release date : 1/10/2011 Author : Peter "jerrysheppy" Bayless Email Address : [email protected] Description : A fairly small and easy E1-style map. I made this map to have exactly 75 monsters, an idea that came about as a result of playing the various 1024 megawads and realizing that despite the small size a lot of them seemed very long and grueling to play through. I wondered what it would be like to make a map with a theme that forced the mapper to make a 'bite-sized' Doom experience, and came up with the idea of making a map with 50 monsters, no more, no less. Once I started making this map I decided 75 might work better. =========================================================================== * What is included * New levels : 1 Sounds : No Music : No Graphics : No Dehacked/BEX Patch : No Demos : No Other : No Other files required : None * Play Information * Game : Doom Map # : E1M1 Single Player : Designed for Cooperative 2-4 Player : No Deathmatch 2-4 Player : No Other game styles : None Difficulty Settings : Not implemented. I was trying to work with both E1 monsters (with a small exception) and with the 75 monster limit, and that didn't give me a lot of good ways to increase the difficulty. It was never going to be that hard even on UV anyway--it's *supposed* to be a leisurely stroll through a research base with a moderate hellspawn and undead infestation--so I let laziness win out. :) * Construction * Base : New from scratch Build Time : A week or so (not working constantly) Editor(s) used : Doombuilder 2 Known Bugs : This map was primarily tested with ZDoom, however, brief testing was done in PrBoom and Chocolate Doom as well. In PrBoom and ZDoom there were no errors or bugs I could see. In Chocolate Doom, the level is completable, but for some reason the first W1 teleport line doesn't work, so several monsters and two secret areas are inaccessible to the player. Also in Chocolate Doom, the exit sign displays tutti-frutti. I'm not sure why this is since as far as I can see the offending wall isn't higher than its texture or any of the other things that cause this. * Copyright / Permissions * Authors may NOT use the contents of this file as a base for modification or reuse.
